Deb MacKayRN, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist

Throughout her life Deb has had an interest in health and well-being. In 2008 Deb was stressed, not exercising, eating an unhealthy diet, weighed more than she ever had, and was not happy with the direction her life was moving to. She decided to try yoga for the low impact exercise and relief from stress.

As her practice deepened she discovered a profound sense of inner peace and confidence. This led her to want to share the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of yoga with others.

In 2012 Deb completed her 200 hour teacher training and in June of 2016 she completed her 500 hour teacher training. Deb enjoys teaching spirit balancing and nurturing creative yoga sequences available to all levels of students.

Deb discovered Ayurveda through her teacher training. As a RN, Deb has had a strong interest in complementary medicine. She utilized breath work, meditation, and visualization while working with patients. She found Ayurveda to be the perfect complement to traditional medicine. Ayurveda’s self-healing aspect through diet, yoga and exercise, meditation, breath work, and lifestyle was the next step for her own self-care. Deb embarked on the journey to become an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist. She completed her certification as an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist in December 2013 at the Himalayan Institute.

Through Yoga, Ayurveda and Wellness Coaching Deb has guided herself back to health. Deb lost the weight she had gained following the Ayurvedic Nutrition Guidelines. Her energy levels are high and consistent. She enjoys an active lifestyle and spending time with her family.

Most of all Deb loves teaching Yoga and Ayurveda’s benefits to those who want to have more energy, lose weight, eat a healthy diet, have better sleep, make time for exercise, and find balance in life. Through her Wellness Coaching she facilitates her clients in building confidence in their ability to make the changes and create new and healthy habits.
